When we had our meeting and discussed your application when you visited me at Knutpunkten Career Center I was almost certain that you would get this internship although I didn´t dared to say so. When you came back a month later to disuss your upcoming interwiew I knew you would get it.

I also must say that this is a good way to show all other students on JIBS and the entire University of Jönköping that it is possible to get real interesting internships throughout the world as long as you try and put in a little effort.

What you should be asking yourself is why the pseudoscience of economics continuous to teach 50 year old theories that clearly does not work. Has anyone actually tested if portfolio theory works? With reservations for market neutral funds. If anyone has a blame for the credit crises it is the academics that year after year make a living from teaching flawed models and their naive beliefs that complex mathematics is going to save the day. Portfolio sharpe ratios, normal distributions, VaR and Gaussian Copulas are as dead as floating corpses in the Hudson river.

quite remarkable. You should definitly raise this with some senior person at JIBS. This is certainly something that should be dealt with. I would continue to try to get a US student loan. It cant be that hard to pursued them to give you a student loan.I mean JIBS is regulated by the “Swedish National Agency for Higher Education”. JIBS is also a recognised University college in Sweden and in the EU so it should be ok.

One option is to get a weekend job to pay for your rent etc. You can easily get a partime job as for example a warehouse worker. Plenty of them since JKPG is a logistic center (the buss goes directly from city center). I have done it myself so it is not to bad . I would expect that 5000 SEK a month would pay for housing and food for a year.
